Colin Stringer

MSc. Molecular and Cellular Biology
GDip. Science Communication

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Colin is a filmmaker and science communicator who operates a production company working with clients in science and research to tell visual stories that effectively communicate the impacts of their research to various stakeholder audiences. Colin also instructs graduate students in intensive hands-on science filmmaking workshops and is currently an instructor with the CNAES graduate student science communication training initiative.

Following five years of experience in research, Colin moved from examining the world through the lens of a microscope to that of a camera. Through a graduate-level education in Science Communication with Dr. Chantal Barriault and Dr. David Pearson at Laurentian University, experience working in film festival production with Brooklyn-based Imagine Science Films, and five years of experience developing science communication films with clients in science and research, Colin has cultivated a unique skill set that crosses the traditionally distinct worlds of art and science.
